Containerized Fire water pumps
We have recently converted four containers into complete pump rooms according to the U.S. NFPA fire fighting prescription, for one of our clients.
For the construction of this pump rooms we used standard 40ft High Cube containers. The containers are equipped with a complete steel construction and an impervious floor. The walls are provided with mineral wool with a perforated plate in relation to the sound insulation and fire resistance. Per container, two vertical turbine pumps installed, powered by electric motors or diesel engines. The containers are fitted with a pressure pipe system with check valves in accordance with NFPA, valves a test pipe with flow meter and a central discharge. A complete electrical installation with main distribution, lighting, heating, temperature-controlled ventilation and fire control panel. The containers with diesel driven pumps are also equipped with an automatic sprinkler system.
The entire container is tested on our test stand for performance and functionality. The Roodhart Group has expanded the test stand with an underground water supply of 300 m3. With this investment in the future several vertical pumps can be tested at Roodhart. To test the electric motor-driven pumps, we hired special units with transformers so we could install Medium voltage motors (6.6 kV) for this customer.
